As we enter 2025, the Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI) is preparing to launch SQF Edition 10, scheduled for release in July 2025, with audits beginning in the first half of 2026.
A key feature of this update is the introduction of a public commenting system, enabling industry professionals to provide feedback and insights. This collaborative approach ensures that the revised code addresses real-world challenges and meets the needs of all stakeholders.
In addition to the public commenting system, SQFI is organising SQF Unites, an event scheduled for March 2025. This gathering will offer industry professionals the opportunity to engage in discussions, attend interactive panels, and explore the practical applications of Edition 10. Such initiatives underscore SQFI’s commitment to fostering a collaborative environment and empowering participants to enhance food safety standards.
To support the transition to Edition 10, SQFI is developing comprehensive training programmes, including checklists, guidance documents, and consultation sessions. These resources are designed to facilitate a smooth implementation process, ensuring that organisations are well-prepared to comply with the updated standards.
By engaging with stakeholders and providing robust educational resources, SQFI aims to set a new benchmark in food safety with Edition 10. Organisations are encouraged to participate in the public commenting process, attend SQF Unites, and utilise the available training materials to ensure a successful transition.
